When you stroll along the streets of Chinatown, be sure to pop in one of the many Chinese medicine shops in the area. The colorful and intriguing remedies and exotic aromas will surely arouse your senses. The store owners of these shops are generally friendly and welcome tourists to look around their shops. The Guo Hua Chinese Medicine Shop is the one I visited with my guide, Robert.

Some of the most fascinating remedies I found during my visit include the gecko on the stick to cure colds and flus, the Reishi mushroom (an extra-terrestrial looking reddish mushroom) often used to improve sexual performance, and of course the bird’s nest which is drunk as a soup for general well being.
